Amare La Cucina Baguio City

Amare La Cucina- A unique restaurant in Baguio City

Amare La Cucina

Overview

Amare La Cucina started as a small restaurant in Baguio City which was originally located at one of the owner's home. They started small and people loved their food which helped them to make a spot in the food industry.

I would personally recommend tourists to drop by the restaurant which is now located at Albergo Hotel. It's a unique restaurant here in Baguio City that serves wooden brick oven pizza. The ambiance is great and comfy. It's definitely a  break from the noise and traffic in town.

Amare La Cucina

Food

The food quality and presentation improved a lot compared to the last time I went there. They do salads (sure to have fresh ingredients from Baguio & Benguet), pasta, and pizza. They also serve a dish with rice (ribs only). They do have a limited menu which is a disadvantage, but the place is still worth the try. Here's a sample photo of their dishes.

Food serving is actually great compared to other Italian restaurants. One pasta is good for 2-3 people which is quite reasonable with the price. :) Also, what I've noticed with their pizza is that they're all thin crusted. Maybe because its more compatible with the wood fire oven and thick crust pizza would take a longer time to bake.

Here is a sample of their menu for those who are interested to try other dishes. Do notice that they serve ONE pizza size which is 12".

Conclusion:

I am not really much of a food reviewer but I do have standards. I did enjoy the food quality, serving, taste, ambiance, which is reasonable with the price. Overall, I would definitely recommend Amare La Cucina to my family and friend. Plus, I would certainly love to go back to the place! I hope you enjoyed the page :)

Hill Station Casa Vallejo Baguio City Review and Pricelis

Hill Station - Casa Vallejo

If you'r looking for a good restaurant or cafe in Baguio City, then you might want to consider Hill Station - Casa Vallejo. The main branch is located near SM Baguio City, which has a great interior design. The other branch is located at Technohub Camp John Hay, which has a smaller architecture but still has the same kind of service.

However, take note that Hill Station (Main Branch) is a fine dining restaurant. That is why they follow a dress code, like slippers (and the like) are not allowed. The other branch located at Technohub John Hay is not so strict when it comes to dress code :)

The food quality, presentation, and quantity is great. Their menu is a bit pricey but is still worth the price. I also recommend first timers to try their cakes and pastries, its definitely one of the best cakes in town! :)

Here's a sample menu of Hill Station - Casa Vallejo for those who are interested to try their dishes :) Enjoy!

5 Foods Proven to Boost Metabolism

Food that Naturally Increase Metabolism

Metabolism pertains to all of the chemical reactions that occur in the body. There are various reasons that can slow down or speed up one's metabolic rate. What most people go for, is a faster metabolism because it is known to aid and support any weight loss program.
There are several ways of speeding up the body’s metabolism. Exercise has the most dramatic effect on a person's metabolic rate.  However, you can also try other options like the diet-induced thermogenesis if you don't have time for a workout program. Food intake also has a certain effect to the body's metabolism.

Five foods that boost metabolism

After eating a meal, there will be a natural increase in the metabolic rate. This occurs because of chemical processes and heat production involved with digestion, absorption, and storage. Food intake is a dynamic factor that directly increases metabolism.
This is the reason why people who skip meals will eventually have a slower metabolism because they eliminate this dynamic process. Instead of skipping meals, try these food and drinks that can naturally increase metabolism.

1. Caffeine

There are lots of  clinical trials showing that caffeine does affect the body's metabolism. According to a recent study conducted, people who drank caffeinated beverages had a higher metabolic rate than those who drank decaf.
Coffee offers a maximum of 16% increase in the body’s metabolic rate because of its stimulatory effect  to the sympathetic nervous system. Keep in mind that the caffeine I am referring to are those contained in coffee beans and not the instant coffee version. Also don’t splurge on frappe and other drinks with added sugar and whip cream.

2. Protein

After eating a meal loaded with protein, the metabolic rate naturally increase after one hour. The effect of protein to metabolism can reach a maximum of 30% above the normal. A protein meal can effectively boost your metabolism which can last for 3 - 12 hours.
3. Cinnamon
Cinnamon is not just a regular spice, it can also help you lose more weight and increase your metabolism. It works by directly affecting the regulation of insulin in your body. Insulin is the hormone which influences the metabolism of fat and carbohydrates. During the process, it also increases the body’s metabolic rate and energy expenditure. One-fourth to one teaspoon of cinnamon can significantly increase your metabolism by 20 percent.

4. Green Tea
Green tea is loaded with antioxidants that reduce free radicals in the body. It also contains catechin which is the active ingredient that is responsible in boosting metabolism. Nutritionists explain that catechin works by promoting fat oxidation and enhancing thermogenesis. It also helps promote and maintain weight loss by improving digestion. Drinking three cups of green tea can boost metabolism by 10 percent.
5. Red Chili Pepper
Red chili pepper and ginger are spices that can speed up metabolism. According to the New York Times, red chili pepper contains capsaicin; this chemical component of chili generates heat in the body. Eating a spicy meal can naturally increase metabolism by eight percent.

One Canadian research claim that appetizers with hot sauce results to fewer food intake throughout the day. This was due to the effect of capsaicin in prolonging one's satiety. Do take caution when eating spicy foods especially on an empty stomach, since it can worsen heartburn and ulcer symptoms.

Summary

Those are the top five foods that can naturally burn fat and boost metabolism. Keep in mind that metabolism is affected by different factors. It is also important to seek expert/medical advice before starting any diet program.

New Cafe & Restaurants in Baguio City

Tired of going to same café or restaurant? Try these new café/restaurants in Baguio for a brand new and fulfilling dining experience.

1. Pamana - Hawaiian Barbeque - Tsokolateria

The three restaurants are built under new management, located in the previous Barrio Fiesta near SM City Baguio. Pamana and Hawaiian Barbeque features traditional Filipino cuisine with a touch of fine dining. A piece of advice, their food is a bit more expensive compared to other restaurants in Baguio but is worth the try. Here's a glimpse of the food at Pamana - Hawaiian Barbeque.

Tsokolateria is also under the same management, they have a creative garden theme that customers will surely love. Their food is also a bit pricey but they do have drinks good for 2-4 persons. I do recommend the choco-barako for coffee lovers, but those with a sweet-tooth would most likely enjoy the fondue and churros.
